Sorry about the lack of posts on here recently. I’ve been busy fighting cockroaches in my Cairo apartment.
So here is a word of the day for everyone:
صرصور (ج) صراصير - cockroach(es)
Insha’allah, I might have an exciting opportunity to do some translation work while I’m here, so if you are reading this, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Palestinian refugees are not at your service →
Translator Moe Ali Nayel was shocked by the arrogance of a recent group of Harvard students interviewing in Sabra refugee camp.

I’ve started a WordPress blog to accumulate Arabic-English translations of news articles and stories that I come across on the internet.
It’s just for practice, a little bit of fun, and maybe someday I’ll get good enough to make a living using this second language of mine.
Until then, here is the link: http://translationsbykevin.wordpress.com

Apologies
Sorry about the ridiculous amount of British Museum instagram spam from today. I was just really excited to be getting a preview of my upcoming Egypt travels right here in London thanks to Napoleon’s forces making off with Egypt’s history.
Really though, shouldn’t it be time to be giving things like this back?

Last night in Edinburgh, then on to London for a few days before flying to Luxor.
Going to spend only a couple of days in Luxor before taking the train up to Cairo and settling in for the summer.
Looking forward to some new experiences and some good, quality Arabic immersion, study and practice.

Just experienced a sudden longing for the High Atlas. It’s only been four months since I was last in Morocco, but that was mostly spent in Rabat and the south. I want those mountains again.
How can one be expected to write a paper, when Westie puppy videos are so abundant on YouTube? I don’t understand.
